The charring process caramelizes the wood sugars in the oak and when soaked on spirits provides rich colour, smooth texture, and sweet notes within 10 days. The extra surface area of the chips intensives the flavour and colour and reduces the soaking time.

Our AHB Kentucky Bourbon Chips are imported directly from the USA and made from genuine American Oak. We have tested and blended an array of chips with different propotions of raw oak and toasted oak resulting in the perfect Kentucky blend.

How to use Kentucky Chips
These chips are deisigned to make stunning bourbon whiskey strait form the soak on filtered 40% spirit.
Alternatively blend your own recipes combining with your favourite spirit essence or enjoy as is.
- Recommended usage: 50-100 grams to 1 to 2 litres of spirit
- Soak Time: 2 to 8 weeks
- Usage: Bourbons, Whiskey, Rum
- Colour: rich deep golden – the longer the soak the deeper the colour
- Always soak spirit in glass not plastic
